Cyprus labour inspection campaign for hospitality and food sectors in 2026
The Cyprus Department of Labour Inspection has announced a specialized inspection campaign targeting hotels, restaurants, and ready-to-eat food distribution premises. The initiative will take place from April to October 2026. Inspections aim to address primary causes of workplace accidents and occupational diseases, including risks from sharp objects, falls, hot surfaces, and chemical handling. Officials will also monitor the use of motorcycles for food delivery. Employers must demonstrate compliance with occupational safety and health legislation. Mandatory requirements include a written risk assessment and the implementation of a risk management system. Businesses are also expected to provide documented safety and health training to their employees. A detailed list of control points and mitigation measures has been made available on the department’s official website.
