Seven-year-old boy dies after accident in Veria park

A seven-year-old boy has died following a severe injury sustained at a park in Veria, Greece. The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, March 20, while the child was playing. A passerby discovered the boy unconscious on a slope located between the Agia Paraskevi Church and the park area. At the time of the incident, the child's mother was inside the church. The boy was initially transported to the General Hospital of Veria with severe head injuries. Due to the critical nature of his condition, he was transferred to hospitals in Thessaloniki, first to AHEPA and subsequently to the Hippokrateio Hospital. Despite receiving intensive care in the ICU for over ten days, the boy succumbed to his injuries in the early morning hours. An investigation into the circumstances of the event is ongoing.
