Marella Discovery II launches 2026 cruise season in Limassol
The cruise ship Marella Discovery II, operated by a TUI Group subsidiary, arrived at the Port of Limassol to officially open the 2026 Cyprus cruise season. The vessel will utilize the DP World Limassol terminal as its home port for the second consecutive year. The service operates under a 'Fly and Cruise' model, requiring passengers to arrive via Larnaca and Paphos airports before transferring to the cruise terminal. The ship features 11 passenger decks, 918 cabins, and various onboard amenities including an outdoor cinema and rock-climbing wall. Between April and October 2026, the ship is scheduled to make 26 port calls in Limassol. It will operate varied Mediterranean itineraries, with reports indicating 7 to 8-day roundtrip durations including stops in destinations such as Kusadasi, Mykonos, Piraeus, and Rhodes. DP World Limassol officials stated that the partnership reflects the island’s growing strategic importance in regional maritime tourism.
