Cyprus announces financial support scheme for farmers
The Department of Agriculture of the Cypriot Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment has launched a support scheme for farmers to mitigate rising costs due to the regional energy crisis. The program offers partial coverage for fertilizers and agricultural supplies purchased between April 1, 2026, and May 31, 2026. Beneficiaries can receive aid covering up to 15% of the invoice value, excluding VAT. The support amounts range from a minimum of €50 to a maximum of €5,000 per applicant. Eligible expenses include fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, and specific wrapping materials for silage. To qualify, applicants must be professional farmers registered under the 2016 Law (N.26(I)/2016). Only individuals, legal entities, and cooperatives in specific professional categories defined by the law are eligible to participate.
