Ioanna Touni wins revenge porn court case against two defendants
On April 1, 2025, the Three-Member Court of Appeals for Felonies in Thessaloniki found two men guilty of violating personal data with the intent to cause harm in a revenge porn case involving influencer Ioanna Touni. The first defendant, Touni's former partner who appeared in the 2017 video, was sentenced to four years in prison. The second defendant, who reportedly filmed the video, received a three-year sentence with a suspension based on his prior lawful conduct. Both sentences include a suspensive effect pending appeal, as defense lawyers have already challenged the verdict and maintain their clients' innocence. Touni expressed relief and stated that this ruling sends a strong message to victims regarding the pursuit of justice. Her friend Dimitra Alexandraki publicly supported her throughout the legal proceedings, which lasted several years. Public reactions have included support from various figures, while Touni highlighted that the outcome signifies a shift in social shame towards perpetrators. The legal process concluded after extensive hearings that were held behind closed doors for parts of the proceedings.
