Israel terminates military procurement from France
The Israeli Ministry of Defense has announced the cessation of all defense procurement from France, citing what it describes as hostile policies toward Tel Aviv. This decision follows France’s recognition of a Palestinian state in September 2025 and a recent ban on Israeli aircraft carrying munitions for the war against Iran from traversing French airspace. Israeli authorities stated that funds previously allocated for French imports will be redirected to the domestic market or allied nations. US President Donald Trump recently criticized France via Truth Social for its lack of cooperation regarding the transit of military equipment. Official reports indicate that French defense industries received orders totaling 223.2 million euros from Israel between 2015 and 2024. While France maintains that it does not deliver finished weapons but rather components, this policy marks a significant shift in bilateral defense relations.
