Dimitris Papadakis files police complaint against Makarios Drousiotis
Former MEP and parliamentary candidate Dimitris Papadakis has filed an official police complaint against researcher and journalist Makarios Drousiotis. The complaint concerns potential offenses under Article 50 of the Penal Code regarding the publication of false news. The allegations stem from social media posts made by Drousiotis on Facebook and X on March 30 and 31, 2026. Through his legal counsel, Papadakis has requested that the police seize all relevant evidence cited by Drousiotis to undergo forensic and scientific analysis to verify its authenticity. The complaint specifically highlights concerns that the destruction of these materials could obstruct justice and affect the complainant's reputation. The political party Alma has announced that its executive committee will convene to discuss the allegations involving Papadakis. Meanwhile, Drousiotis maintains that his claims are documented and require investigation by the authorities. The government has responded by stating that anyone possessing evidence regarding these allegations should submit it to the relevant authorities.
