Cyprus film days 2026 children and youth section announced

The International Festival Cyprus Film Days 2026 has announced the program for its Children and Youth section, scheduled to take place from April 17 to April 25. The events will be held at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol and K Cineplex Prime in Nicosia. Under the artistic direction of Athina Xenidou, the program features international film screenings, four specialized workshops, and masterclasses covering screenwriting, casting, and acting. A central component is the 3rd annual National Short Film Competition for Children and Youth. Participation in the competition is open to primary, secondary, and high school students with approval from the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, as well as young creators up to the age of 24. Workshops will be hosted exclusively at K Cineplex Prime. The initiative aims to provide young people with practical experience in the filmmaking process rather than viewing it solely as an audience.
