NASA prepares for the Artemis II crewed moon mission
NASA is finalizing preparations for the Artemis II mission, the first crewed flight to the Moon in over 50 years. The mission features four astronauts: NASA's Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, alongside Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency. The crew is currently in quarantine at the Neil A. Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The launch of the Orion spacecraft via the Space Launch System rocket is scheduled for April 1, with a two-hour window starting at 18:24 local time. While technical systems have passed readiness reviews following previous delays, weather remains a variable factor. Current forecasts indicate an 80% probability of favorable conditions. Should issues arise, backup dates remain available through April 6. The mission will be broadcast live via NASA's official YouTube channel beginning April 1.
