The Mediterranean cyclone Erminio is moving northeast, having already impacted Libya, Italy, and Greece with heavy rainfall and high winds. Meteorologists expect the cyclone's effects to reach Cyprus starting Wednesday, April 1. While forecasts vary slightly, predictions indicate increased cloud cover, localized thunderstorms, and potential hail. Some sources project up to 35 mm of rainfall within a 24-hour period starting Wednesday, accompanied by winds reaching force six on the Beaufort scale. On Thursday, April 2, air quality may decline due to Saharan dust, potentially resulting in muddy rainfall. Temperatures are expected to remain near seasonal norms, with highs of 20-22 degrees Celsius in lowland areas and 10 degrees in the Troodos mountains. Improved weather is anticipated for Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, followed by a new period of instability on Sunday, April 5.
