AEK goalkeeper Andreas Paraskevas returns after injuries and earns contract extension
Andreas Paraskevas, the 27-year-old goalkeeper for AEK Larnaca, has successfully returned to professional football after overcoming three cruciate ligament ruptures and six surgeries over a three-and-a-half-year period. On October 30, he played as a starter in the Super Cup against Pafos FC, where he saved the decisive penalty in a shootout to secure the trophy for his club. During the current season, he has recorded four appearances for AEK, including three league matches against Pafos FC, Enosis Neon Paralimniou, and APOEL. His recent performances led to his debut for the Cyprus national team in a friendly match against Moldova. In recognition of his resilience and contribution, AEK has offered him a new two-year contract extending his tenure until the 2027-28 season. The official signing of this agreement is expected to take place at the end of the current campaign. Paraskevas has effectively replaced Zlatan Alomerovic in the starting lineup during several key fixtures.
