Journalist allegations spark investigation into judicial and political figures in Cyprus

Journalist and author Makarios Drousiotis has published serious allegations detailing an alleged network of corruption, pedophilia, and abuse of power involving high-ranking judicial, political, and business figures in Cyprus. The report references a source nicknamed 'Santy' and alleges involvement by individuals including former Supreme Court judge Michalis Christodoulou, former President Nicos Anastasiades, and others. The Cyprus Police have initiated contact with Drousiotis, requesting him to provide evidence for an official investigation, to which he has agreed pending consultation with his lawyer. Political parties, including AKEL, Volt, and the Ecologists, have demanded a thorough and impartial probe into the claims, linking them to historical cases like the 'black van' espionage affair. Former judge Christodoulou has categorically denied the allegations, characterizing them as the product of an unhealthy mind and offering to provide DNA evidence to clarify personal claims.
