Achille Polonara returns to training after leukemia treatment

Italian basketball player Achille Polonara has returned to individual training nine months after being diagnosed with leukemia. The 32-year-old forward underwent a bone marrow transplant during his recovery period. His club, Dinamo Sassari, has supported him since September by offering a contract that provided the necessary time for his recovery. Polonara recently shared a video on social media showing himself performing basketball drills and shooting on the court. While initial goals for his return were set for late March, his recovery required slightly more time. He is currently working on regaining his physical condition after the strain of his medical treatments. Additionally, the athlete has authored a book titled 'Il mio secondo tempo' to document his experiences. He remains determined to return to full professional activity with Sassari.
