Reciprocal drone strikes occur between Russia and Ukraine

Russia reported an overnight drone attack on the Leningrad region, where local officials claimed 38 drones were intercepted. While the governor initially denied damage to the Ust-Luga energy port, other reports suggested a fire and infrastructure impact at the facility. Debris from the intercepted drones damaged three apartment buildings and a school, resulting in three injuries. Simultaneously, Russian airstrikes targeted northern and central Ukraine, causing at least two deaths and approximately 30 injuries across the Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions. In the Poltava region, drone debris hit an apartment building, while strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk region near Nikopol killed a 65-year-old man. Russian glide bombs also hit a community in the Sumy region, injuring 13 people, including a six-year-old child. Over 50 flights were reportedly canceled at St. Petersburg airport following the regional drone activity. The two nations continue to target each other's energy and military infrastructure as the conflict persists.
