Cyprus University of Technology to establish new faculty in Larnaca
The Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) is set to establish the School of Marine Sciences, Technology and Sustainable Development in the Mackenzie area of Larnaca. An official agreement between the Larnaca Municipality and TEPAK is scheduled to be signed on April 3. The project is funded by a loan of approximately 16 million euros secured from the European Investment Bank. The municipality will serve as the contracting authority for the construction of the facilities, which is expected to take two years. The new school will feature two departments focusing on marine biology, ecosystems, aquaculture, and sustainable development. Once fully operational, the faculty is expected to accommodate approximately 400 students. The first programs are targeted to welcome students by the fall of 2028. Additionally, the city is currently home to UCLan Cyprus and the American University of Cyprus, with potential interest expressed by Greek institutions like the University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens.
