AEL and APOEL announce major player transfers to FC Ordabasy
Cypriot football clubs AEL and APOEL have confirmed the transfers of Leo Natel and David Abagna respectively to the Kazakh club FC Ordabasy. Both transfers were driven by the clubs' need for financial stability and to settle outstanding economic obligations. The sale of the Brazilian forward Leo Natel, who recorded six goals and five assists for AEL, generated over 500,000 euros. APOEL similarly finalized the departure of Ghanaian midfielder David Abagna, citing the player's personal desire to move and the club's financial requirements. To compensate for the loss of Abagna, APOEL announced the return of Panagiotis Kattirtzis to the first team. Meanwhile, AEL noted that the departure of Natel follows recent outgoing deals for Stefan Keller and Victor Braga as part of a broader fiscal strategy. The transfer of Natel is considered one of the four most expensive in AEL's history. Both departures have raised concerns among fans regarding the potential negative impact on the teams' competitive performance in the remaining season, specifically in the cup tournaments.
