24-year-old man sentenced to 10 years for drug trafficking in Paphos

The Paphos Permanent Assize Court has sentenced a 24-year-old man to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking. The defendant was found guilty of illegal importation and possession of 16.03 kilograms of cannabis with intent to supply. The drugs were seized on June 10, 2025, at Paphos International Airport. The man had arrived on a flight from another European country when customs officials and members of the Anti-Narcotics Service (YKAN) conducted a search. While the gross weight of the seized narcotics was 16.776 kilograms, laboratory analysis confirmed a net weight of 16.03 kilograms of cannabis. The case was investigated by the Paphos district branch of YKAN. The court imposed concurrent 10-year prison sentences for the offenses committed. The ruling was finalized following the examination of evidence presented by the prosecution.
