Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission completes 2026 Global Money Week initiatives
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has concluded its participation in the 2026 Global Money Week, an international initiative led by the OECD. The campaign focused on improving financial literacy among youth under the theme 'Smart Money Talks'. CySEC conducted lectures and presentations at schools and universities across Cyprus, covering topics such as savings, budgeting, responsible consumption, and financial risk management. The initiative emphasized the development of critical thinking to help students identify financial fraud and deceptive practices. Due to high interest from educational institutions, CySEC announced that it will continue these presentations through May 2026. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth and the Cyprus Financial Literacy and Education Committee, new educational materials were developed and distributed. These resources aim to integrate financial skills more systematically into the school curriculum.
