Natasa Lappa begins 2026 sailing season at Trofeo Princesa Sofia

Cypriot sailor Natasa Lappa, a 24-year-old IQFOIL athlete, is set to compete in the 55th Trofeo Princesa Sofia in Mallorca, beginning on March 31, 2026. This event marks the start of her competitive season, featuring 72 athletes from 27 countries. Lappa completed her winter training in Sardinia and Limassol while balancing university studies. She previously underwent two surgeries in late 2025 and noted that she continues to manage residual pain risks during high-intensity training. Her 2026 schedule includes the French Olympic Week in Hyères from April 20 to 25, followed by the European Championship in Portugal from May 16 to 22. Lappa is supported by various organizations, including Allwyn Cyprus and the Beyond the Medal scholarship program. She has already competed in two Olympic Games.
