Cat goes missing during transit from Larnaca via Athens
A one-eyed male cat named Bibi went missing during an international flight on March 28, departing from Larnaca Airport with a transit stop in Athens. The cat was transported in an IATA-approved crate alongside another cat, but upon arrival at the final destination, only one cat remained. The Ecologists Movement-Citizens' Cooperation reported that the crate had been secured and checked for escapes prior to departure. Authorities have identified Larnaca and Athens airports as the most probable locations for the disappearance, and an investigation is currently underway. The organization noted that a similar incident involving a cat named Mika occurred at Larnaca Airport in September 2025, with that animal being recovered after nine days. Anthi Mouzouri, coordinator of the group's animal action unit, has called for a thorough investigation by all responsible parties. Public assistance has been requested to help locate the missing animal, with initial search efforts reported as active.
