Two separate violent incidents reported in Limassol
On the night of Monday, 28 October, a clash involving six Iranian nationals occurred along the Limassol seafront, resulting in three injuries. One of the individuals suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while others sustained head injuries. Police have arrested all six individuals, who were aged 31 to 43, and are investigating the incident as an attempted murder, with reports suggesting the dispute arose from political disagreements. Separately, on Tuesday morning, 31 March, a bar owned by a 40-year-old Russian businessman in Yermasoyia was targeted by gunfire. This incident follows a series of attacks on the businessman's properties, including a bombing at his restaurant on 24 March, arson at the same bar in December, and the burning of his luxury vehicles in November. Security footage from the recent shooting reportedly captured a masked suspect on a motorcycle fleeing the scene. Authorities are actively investigating both unrelated events, and the police have noted that while preventative measures were in place for the businessman, constant surveillance of private property is not feasible.
