Recent traffic accidents and road closures across Cyprus

On the morning of March 31, 2026, several serious traffic incidents occurred across Cyprus, leading to road closures and police interventions. On the Larnaca-Nicosia highway near Lympia, a multi-vehicle collision involving three cars resulted in an 18-year-old woman being hospitalized in critical condition after being struck while standing near the road divider. This highway section was reopened by 10:45 a.m. Separately, a segment of the Nicosia-Limassol highway near the Latsia weigh station was temporarily restricted to traffic to facilitate police investigations into a collision involving a patrol car. Additionally, a three-vehicle collision on the Limassol-Agros road near Gerasa occurred around 8:30 a.m., causing temporary traffic disruption. Authorities reported no serious injuries in the latter incident. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding all these events.
