Multi-vehicle collision on the Larnaca-Nicosia highway

On the morning of Monday at approximately 08:30, a series of three traffic collisions occurred on the Larnaca-Nicosia highway near the Lympia exit. Initially, a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old woman collided with a car driven by a 51-year-old woman. Following this incident, a third vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man collided with the two stationary cars, causing one of them to strike the 18-year-old who was standing on the side of the road near the concrete barrier. The 18-year-old was transported to Nicosia General Hospital and is currently in critical condition. While initial police reports mentioned two individuals were hospitalized, specific details regarding other injuries remain under investigation. The highway was temporarily closed to traffic to allow for emergency operations, with vehicles diverted through the old road. The Pera Chorio Police Station is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the accidents.
