Electricity authority announces planned maintenance and reports grid faults
The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has scheduled power cuts for Tuesday, March 31, 2026, between 08:00 and 14:00 to perform grid maintenance and expansion. The affected areas span the Limassol and Paphos districts, including Kato Platres, Omodos, Mandria, Vasa Koilaniou, Malia, Kissousa, Potamiou, Arsos, Praitori, Mesana, Arminou, Filousa Kelokedaron, Kedares, Salamiou, Agios Ioannis Paphos, and Agios Nikolaos. EAC warns consumers to treat all installations as live during this entire period, as power may return earlier than scheduled. Separately, on March 30, 2026, a technical fault in the medium voltage network caused power outages in the Aradippou area of Larnaca. According to EAC spokesperson Christina Papadopoulou, the fault occurred shortly after 05:00. While the official estimate for restoration was 11:00, the authority noted that power could be restored earlier than this time. Repair crews were dispatched immediately to isolate the fault and restore supply to the affected customers.
