Olympiacos announces major renovations for the Peace and Friendship Stadium

Olympiacos basketball club has outlined plans to renovate the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF), following the long-term acquisition of the facility's usage rights for 49 years. The comprehensive project is estimated to cost up to 50 million euros, with approximately 20 million euros specifically allocated for replacing the stadium's roof. Key structural goals include increasing seating capacity from 12,500 to over 16,000, which will be achieved by utilizing the track area and lowering the floor level. Additional upgrades involve the renovation of locker rooms, restrooms, lighting, seating, and the creation of commercial spaces for retail and catering. Work is scheduled to commence in the summer of 2026 and span three years. The club intends to conduct the renovation in stages to allow for continuous stadium operations, aiming to avoid relocating the team during the construction period.
