Recent reports on two separate deaths under investigation in the Thessaloniki area
Two separate death investigations are currently underway in the Thessaloniki region. In the first case, a 59-year-old Greek woman residing in Germany was found dead in her home on Arrianou Street in Evosmos with a belt around her neck, leading police to suspect strangulation. The Organized Crime Unit is investigating this case. In a separate incident in Koufalia, an 82-year-old man was found dead in his home on March 28. His 77-year-old wife was arrested for failing to provide assistance, as he allegedly lay on the floor for hours without medical attention. The couple had previously been involved in legal proceedings regarding domestic violence, where the wife was acquitted due to reasonable doubt. Authorities are awaiting forensic results to determine if the 77-year-old is directly involved in her husband's death beyond the charge of failing to provide assistance. Both incidents remain under official investigation by the Hellenic Police.
