According to reports by Iran International and external analysts, tension has surfaced between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Ahmad Vahidi regarding the management of regional conflicts. Pezeshkian reportedly warned that the national economy faces total collapse within three to four weeks if a ceasefire is not reached. The president has requested the return of administrative and executive powers from the security apparatus to the government, a demand rejected by Vahidi. Vahidi argued that the government failed to implement necessary structural reforms prior to the escalation of the conflict. On March 7, Pezeshkian publicly apologized for unauthorized attacks on neighboring countries and ordered a cessation of hostilities, yet these attacks continued afterward.
