President Christodoulides announces timeline for new autism center in Famagusta
President Nikos Christodoulides confirmed that construction of a new model autism center in the free Famagusta district is currently underway. The project, budgeted at 4.5 million euros, is scheduled for completion within 18 months. This initiative was first announced during a regional meeting in Paralimni in February 2025. The Ayia Napa municipality issued the design tender for the facility on March 23. Christodoulides made these remarks while participating in the 'Run for Autism' charity race in Ayia Napa. The event, which has grown over five years, hosted more than 5,000 participants from 20 countries this year. All proceeds from the race are designated to support services for individuals with autism in the region. The President noted that his personal daily exercise routine is necessary to manage his official duties.
