Nationwide 'No Kings' protests held across the United States
On Saturday, demonstrators across the United States participated in the 'No Kings' protest movement to express opposition to the policies of President Donald Trump. Organizers planned more than 3,200 events across all 50 states, following two previous nationwide mobilizations. While large rallies were held in major cities like New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Washington, two-thirds of the events took place in smaller communities, marking a 40% increase in regional participation compared to June. A notable rally occurred in Saint Paul, Minnesota, featuring speakers such as Governor Tim Walz and Senator Bernie Sanders. Protesters at the Minnesota site displayed photos of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, two U.S. citizens killed by federal immigration officers earlier this year. Organizers noted increased event planning in historically Republican states and competitive suburban districts ahead of upcoming midterm elections. The demonstrations focused on various issues, including deportation efforts and U.S. foreign policy toward Iran. Participants and speakers characterized the movement as a response to perceived authoritarianism.
