Police in Cyprus report multiple arrests following separate incidents in Paphos and Limassol
In Paphos, a 20-year-old man was arrested following two high-speed chases and a collision with a tree, after police signaled his vehicle to stop due to suspicious activity and lack of license plates. An 18-year-old passenger was also apprehended during the initial pursuit on Saturday, during which officers fired warning shots. The 20-year-old driver tested positive for drugs and was hospitalized before being brought before the Paphos District Court. Separately, in Limassol, a 33-year-old man was arrested for resisting arrest, assaulting police officers, and possession of illegal substances. The suspect attempted to flee on foot after falling from his bicycle, but was captured by patrolling officers. A search revealed 20 grams of cannabis, 9 grams of methamphetamine, and 442 euros in cash. Investigations into both cases are ongoing by local police authorities.
