French police thwart bombing attempt at Bank of America in Paris

French authorities intervened early Saturday morning at approximately 3:30 a.m. to stop a planned bombing at a Bank of America branch in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Police arrested a man on the scene as he prepared to ignite a makeshift device containing five liters of flammable liquid. A second accomplice fled the scene on foot. The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) has launched an investigation and has since arrested two additional suspects, including a minor. The minor detained on Saturday reportedly stated he was recruited via Snapchat for 600 euros to carry out the attack. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez stated that the attempt is being examined in the context of the current international situation and the ongoing war in the Middle East. Authorities remain on high alert to protect potential targets, including diplomatic sites, religious institutions, and American interests.
