Attempted bombing of Bank of America branch in Paris thwarted
French authorities successfully thwarted an attempted bombing at a Bank of America branch in Paris early Friday morning. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. local time in the 8th arrondissement, near the Champs-Élysées. Police arrested a man who was in the process of placing an improvised explosive device outside the bank building. The device consisted of five liters of flammable liquid combined with an ignition system. The French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) has launched an official investigation into the incident. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez praised the police intervention and emphasized that the country remains in a state of high alert. The minister noted that US interests, alongside other potential targets, are under increased surveillance due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. No casualties or damages were reported following the timely intervention by the authorities.
