Changes to document stamping process announced by Cyprus Tax Department

The Cyprus Tax Department has announced a new procedure for document stamping effective from April 1, 2026. This adjustment follows the repeal of the Stamp Duty Laws of 1963 to 2025 via Law N.239(I)/2025, which came into effect on January 1, 2026. According to the announcement dated January 9, 2026, documents subject to stamp duty must be submitted via the Tax For All (TFA) online portal. After submission, documents must be physically presented to the local District Tax Offices for final stamping. This step can only proceed after the document has been examined and the required duty has been paid. The process is open to any individual with a Tax Identification Number (TIN) and an active TFA account, regardless of their role as a party to the document.
