Church of Faneromeni to donate building to Greek Embassy in Nicosia

The church committee of Panagia Faneromeni in Nicosia has officially confirmed the decision to donate a building currently housing the Greek Embassy to the Greek state. The announcement was made by the head of the church committee, Chrysostomos Chrysostomou, during a service marking the anniversary of the 1821 Greek uprising. The initiative was proposed by Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus, with Chrysostomou stating that the church is acting out of respect for the Archbishop's institutional authority. The event was attended by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Ambassador Konstantinos Kollias. Ambassador Kollias thanked the church for this contribution, emphasizing the long-standing collaboration between the embassy and the religious institution regarding cultural and linguistic matters. The donated property is one of three buildings located south of the old city of Nicosia.
