Candidate Isabella Takka switches parties before legislative elections

Isabella Takka has officially become a candidate for the DIPA party for the upcoming parliamentary elections, following a brief period of association with the Ecologists-Citizens' Cooperation movement. Takka was originally announced as an Ecologist candidate on March 10, appearing in photographs with party president Stavros Papadouris. However, she later decided to withdraw from that ticket on March 24. Takka denies ever making a formal, binding commitment to the Ecologists, stating she maintained reservations throughout the process. She further clarified that she was not approached by any other party while associated with the Ecologists and only received an offer from DIPA after she expressed her intent to leave the first group. DIPA president Marios Karoyian had previously noted that her name was omitted from initial candidate announcements for specific reasons. Takka remains registered as a DIPA candidate seventeen days after her initial association with the Ecologists.
