Roy Hodgson appointed as Bristol City manager
Roy Hodgson, 78, has returned to football management to take charge of Bristol City until the end of the season. His appointment follows the dismissal of Gerhard Struber and his assistant, Abel, due to a period of poor form that saw the team drop to 16th place in the Championship. Bristol City has recorded one win in their last nine matches, causing the club to fall 12 points behind the playoff positions. The appointment is temporary and covers the remaining seven matches of the season. Club official Charlie Boss stated that Hodgson will help establish necessary standards and values for the team's future success. Meanwhile, the club is currently searching for a new sporting director who will play a key role in appointing a permanent manager. Hodgson, who previously coached the England national team and Crystal Palace, brings five decades of experience across 22 teams in eight countries.
