Ministry of health meets with the Miracle Babies association

On Monday, March 23, the association Miracle Babies held a meeting with the Minister of Health, Neophytos Charalambidis, to address the needs of premature infants in Cyprus. The discussion focused on the holistic care of premature babies from birth through adulthood. The association emphasized the urgent need to upgrade the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Makarios Hospital, stating that further delays are not acceptable. The Minister of Health responded positively and pledged to support these efforts. The association also highlighted its previous contributions, including the funding of a Family Room and the decoration of patient rooms in the NICU. Discussions also covered the necessity for increased psychological and financial state support for affected families. Both parties exchanged proposals aimed at improving the health, safety, and quality of life for premature infants. The association expects that this dialogue will lead to concrete future initiatives and actions by the government.
