Fidias Panayiotou launches campaign to increase voter registration
Fidias Panayiotou, leader of the Direct Democracy movement, has initiated a running campaign across Cyprus to encourage young people to register for the electoral rolls. The campaign begins today at 16:30 in Paralimni and will cover a route through Larnaca and Limassol, ending in Paphos. The primary objective of this initiative is to boost civic participation and increase the number of registered voters before the deadline on Thursday, April 2. Panayiotou is targeting individuals who are eligible to vote but have not yet registered. This effort follows a similar previous campaign he conducted before the European elections, where he ran from Kyrenia to Larnaca. The event is presented as a measure to activate the electorate and promote democratic engagement. No official figures on the number of expected new registrations were provided.
