Twenty-three-year-old arrested in Thessaloniki for sexual abuse of minors

A 23-year-old Afghan national has been arrested in Thessaloniki following an investigation by the Minors Protection Department. The suspect is accused of sexually abusing three girls, aged 13 and 14, throughout 2025 by luring them to his residence or other locations with alcohol and drugs. Additionally, the suspect is charged with supplying drugs to three boys aged 15 to 17 in exchange for money. Police conducted a search of the suspect's residence in early January, where they discovered MDMA, pills, and a mobile phone. Formal charges filed against him include rape, violation of sexual dignity, and breaches of laws regarding controlled substances and the protection of minors. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities process the evidence found during the arrest. The suspect remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
