Cyprus Foreign Minister warns citizens against holiday travel to conflict zones
Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos has issued a warning to citizens planning holiday travel to the Middle East, citing the unpredictable and dangerous situation in the region. The Minister expressed concern over an increasing trend of Cypriots booking trips to conflict-affected areas during the upcoming Easter period. Kombos emphasized that state resources for potential repatriation are limited and that the government cannot guarantee the ability to perform further evacuation operations. He urged citizens to strictly adhere to travel advisories and prioritize safety. The Minister also highlighted the ongoing humanitarian efforts of Cyprus, noting the successful delivery of 900 tons of aid to Gaza via the Amalthea corridor on March 26. He stressed the importance of continued European Union coordination and diplomatic engagement in addressing the crisis.
