Forensic analysis confirms human remains in Halkidiki belong to two individuals
On March 3, human skeletal remains were discovered at a hotel complex in Sithonia, Halkidiki. The discovery occurred during cleaning operations in an artificial lake located on the property, which dates back to the 1970s. Initial assessments suggested the remains belonged to a single individual, but subsequent forensic examinations have revised this finding. Authorities have now confirmed that the bones belong to at least two people of different ages. Evidence suggests the remains had been in the lake for an extended period, as the artificial body of water had not been cleaned recently. The Hellenic Police (EL.AS) are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the find. Further analysis is ongoing to determine the identities and the cause of death for both individuals.
