28-year-old man faces trial following molotov cocktail attack on family home in Nicosia

On March 21 at approximately 10:30 p.m., two molotov cocktails were thrown at a residence in Nicosia, causing exterior property damage. The fire was extinguished by the occupants, and no injuries were reported. Police arrested a 28-year-old Greek Cypriot man on March 22 following the incident. Authorities state the suspect is the son of the homeowner and allegedly made prior threats against his father and brother following an argument. The suspect, who reportedly lives above his father's residence, has been a subject of police interest in previous cases. Following his arrest, a Nicosia District Court ordered his four-day detention. On March 26, the case was referred to a direct trial, with the first hearing scheduled for April 20. The suspect will remain in custody until the legal proceedings conclude.
