Nineteen-year-old detained following fatal altercation in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki
A 19-year-old man was remanded in custody on March 21 following his voluntary surrender to an investigating magistrate. He is accused of involvement in an incident in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, which resulted in the death of 20-year-old Kleomenis. During his testimony, the suspect stated that he traveled from Sykies to Kalamaria with the victim and an unnamed third person to confront a 23-year-old individual. The suspect claims the group attacked the 23-year-old using only physical force, specifically punches and kicks, and denied possessing any weapons such as hammers. He testified that the group did not realize the victim had been stabbed until they reached Argonauton Street, at which point Kleomenis collapsed. Following the incident, the suspect admitted to discarding his clothing in a trash bin and driving the third individual to Kastra before returning home. The 23-year-old assailant has previously confessed to the stabbing.
