Cyprus launches awareness campaign for ADHD
The Ministry of Health in Cyprus, in collaboration with the ADHD Association Cyprus and the Press and Information Office, has launched a public awareness campaign titled “Let’s Talk Openly about ADHD.” The initiative aims to reduce social stigma and increase public understanding of the neurodevelopmental disorder. Statistics provided by the Association indicate that ADHD affects approximately 7% of children and 3% of adults in Cyprus. Symptoms associated with the condition include difficulty concentrating, distractibility, inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior. Experts state that while the condition cannot be cured, it remains manageable through professional guidance, support, and understanding. The campaign encourages open dialogue to foster a more inclusive society. The ADHD Association Cyprus has expressed gratitude to the Ministry for supporting these awareness efforts.
