Omonia prepares for Paphos FC match while celebrating league title
Omonia Nicosia has concluded preparations for the 33rd round match of the Cypriot championship against Paphos FC, scheduled for May 6, 2026, at 19:00 at the Stelios Kyriakides stadium. The squad for the away game includes 21 players, but notably excludes Ryan Mae, who has been left out for rest, alongside suspended players Coulibaly, Evandro, and Semedo, and injured players Panagiotis Andreou and Nikolas Panagiotou. Concurrently, the club is preparing for the trophy presentation ceremony during the upcoming match against AEK at GSP stadium, for which tickets for the West, East, and North stands have already sold out. Club president Stavros Papastavrou, whose tenure has been marked by significant infrastructure investments including the modernization of the Ilias Poullos training center and plans for a private stadium, emphasized that the club will continue to operate with financial prudence despite future Champions League challenges. Separately, Anorthosis Famagusta faces a two-transfer window ban imposed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the Elder Ferreira case, which has complicated contract renewal negotiations with defender Kiko. Anorthosis officials remain optimistic but acknowledge the difficulty of replacing key players given the transfer embargo.
