Omonia leads the league by eight points ahead of the derby against AEK Larnaca
Omonia currently leads the Cypriot league standings with an eight-point advantage over second-placed AEK Larnaca. As the league enters the third matchday of the playoffs, Omonia prepares for a critical away derby against AEK, scheduled for Easter Tuesday. AEK Larnaca, coming off a draw against Apollon, aims to narrow the gap to five points to keep their title aspirations alive. The Larnaca side will be without players Saborit, Amin, Cabrera, and Chacon for the upcoming match. Omonia’s Ryan Mmaee has reached a record 19 goals this season, boosting the team's offensive strength. Despite their lead, Omonia remains focused and cautious, as 24 points are still available to be won. The team continues training under coach Henning Berg, while facing squad absences including Fabiano, Uzoho, and Mayambela.
