Doretta Papadimitriou discusses her past experience with postpartum depression
Greek actress and television personality Doretta Papadimitriou recently shared her personal experience with postpartum depression in an interview on the 'Rainbow Mermaids' vidcast. She revealed that she suffered from the condition following the birth of her first son, Dionysis. At the time, she noted that social media was not yet a common platform for sharing such experiences, which made her feel isolated in her struggle. Papadimitriou explained that she managed the depression largely on her own. Her recovery was significantly aided by the fact that she became pregnant with her second child, Philippos, shortly after. This second pregnancy forced her to shift her focus and effectively helped her move past the depressive period. She also remarked on how the modern use of social media now provides a support network for mothers, allowing them to realize they are not alone in their feelings. Additionally, she touched upon the emotional transition of seeing her eldest son leave home for his studies.
