Cyprus records nearly double the expected rainfall for March 2026

The Cyprus Department of Meteorology reported that rainfall from March 1 to 26 reached 176% of the monthly average. The average precipitation recorded was 108.8 mm, compared to the normal monthly norm of 61.9 mm. Specific locations recorded even higher amounts: Stavros tis Psokas received 236 mm (202%), Platania 193 mm (172%), Pano Panagia 192.6 mm (189%), Saittas 175.1 mm (210%), and Prodromos 166.7 mm (138%). Meteorological forecasts indicate that light, local rains are expected on March 28 and 29, with up to 3 cm of snow possible in the mountains. Friday, March 27, is expected to be clear with temperatures reaching up to 23 degrees Celsius on the coast, although some dust concentration in the air is anticipated.
