Limassol announces the 27th edition of the Lemesia athletic event

Mayor of Limassol Yiannis Armeftis officially announced the 27th annual Lemesia sports event during a press conference at the Panos Solomonidis Municipal Cultural Center. The event aims to promote physical activity through a comprehensive strategy for an inclusive and healthy urban environment. The program for 2026 is scheduled to run from March through December. While official statements mention over 48 athletic activities, some reports note that the number of events reaches approximately 50. Loizos Mavroudis, President of the Youth and Sports Committee, described the festival as the largest sports event in Cyprus. The initiative includes investments in local sports infrastructure and maintenance of community facilities. Organizers emphasized that the events are designed to engage all citizens regardless of age, with a focus on youth participation. The project is supported by a network of partners, including sports associations and educational authorities.
