American Medical Center in Cyprus introduces EnPlace surgical procedure for pelvic organ prolapse
The American Medical Center (AMC) in Cyprus has become the first medical facility in Europe to perform the EnPlace method for treating uterine prolapse. This procedure is led by obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Andri Kakkoura. The EnPlace technique is a minimally invasive vaginal surgery that stabilizes the uterus or vaginal vault using specialized anchors placed in the pelvic ligaments. It is performed without abdominal incisions or the use of mesh. The procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes and does not require a hysterectomy. Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition often affecting post-menopausal women or those who have had multiple childbirths. Symptoms include pelvic pressure, incontinence, and pain during intercourse, which often impact daily life. AMC states that this technique provides an alternative treatment option that preserves the body's natural physiology.
